Turntable Bagel is the brainchild of Miami native Grace Hill—known behind the decks as Sombra. Inspired by her late mother, restaurateur and organic chef Cindy Bosco Hill, Grace grew up surrounded by incredible food and vibrant music. Cindy was the force behind iconic South Beach spots like the 11th Street Diner and Sir Michael Caine’s restaurant, The South Beach Brasserie. Meanwhile, Grace’s father, Robin Hill—a music-loving photographer from England—kept the house pulsing with an eclectic mix of tunes, from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to Tears for Fears, Sting, Sade, Madonna, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane.

One spring day, hunger and inspiration struck at the same time. Driving through the city, stereo blasting and stomach rumbling, she turned a corner past a bagel shop—and just like that, Turntable Bagel popped into her head. A lightbulb moment. A delicious destiny. And the vision for a brand-new venue where food and music collide was born.
